🦁 What is LOVE Zoo?
LOVE Zoo is an educational, anti-CryptoZoo collectible game inside the LOVE ecosystem. You buy eggs, hatch them into AI-generated animals, level them up by engaging on the platform, breed them with Mendelian genetics, trade them on a marketplace, and compete for weekly USDL prize pools — all paid from a closed-loop 🎮 Game Dev Fund treasury (no inflationary minting).
🚀 Getting Started
- Open /dashboard/love-zoo.
- Buy your first egg ($1.50 USDL → LOVE at the live rate, 5-min price lock).
- Wait for the hatch timer (a few minutes), then tap Hatch.
- Engage on the platform (Sparks, comments, etc.) — your animals earn XP automatically (capped at $5/day USDL value).
- Complete daily quests for bonus rewards from the 🎮 Game Dev Fund.
🥚 Eggs & Hatching
Each egg costs $1.50 USDL (paid in LOVE at the canonical Quick Converter rate). Hatching produces a unique AI-generated animal (Gemini Flash Image) with one of 8 starter species. Rarity is rolled at hatch: Common / Uncommon / Rare / Epic / Mythic. Eggs from breeding inherit a Mendelian genome from both parents.
🧬 Genetics (Phase 13D)
Every animal has 8 genes × 2 alleles (dominant D / recessive r). Phenotypes give bonuses to XP gain, breeding yield, luck, and marketplace sale price. About 3% of alleles mutate. ✨ Shiny animals (all-YY genome, ~1% wild rate) glow with a special ring and command premium prices. Open the 🧬 Genetics dialog on any animal card to see the full genome.
💞 Breeding & Stud Marketplace
Breed two of your own animals (solo) or invite a friend (co-op). Both methods produce a Mendelian-genome egg. The Stud Marketplace (Phase 17) lets you list one of your animals as a stud for a fee ($0.50 – $500 USDL). The breeder pays the stud fee + base breeding cost; 95% of the stud fee goes to the stud owner, 5% to the 🎮 Game Dev Fund. Verified Breeders (≥5 breedings & ≥4.0★ avg rating) appear first.
🛒 Marketplace
List any animal for sale in LOVE. Filter by rarity, stage, traits, ✨ Find Shiny, search by species/@seller, and view the full lineage tree (3 generations). The platform takes a small fee on each sale, routed to the 🎮 Game Dev Fund.
🎯 Daily & Weekly Quests
6 daily quests reset every UTC midnight, each rewarding USDL-pegged LOVE from the 🎮 Game Dev Fund:
- caretaker — daily login
- promoter — share a Spark
- breeder — complete 1 breeding
- hatcher2 ($0.30) — hatch 2 eggs
- xp_grinder ($0.40) — earn 1000 XP
- collector ($0.25) — make 1 marketplace purchase
Claim all 6 → 🏆 Daily Bundle Bonus +$1.00 USDL. Claim the daily bundle on 5+ of 7 days in a UTC week → 👑 Weekend Mega Bonus +$3.00 USDL (one claim per ISO week).
🏆 Weekly Tournaments
Three categories run Mon → Mon UTC, with a $50 USDL prize pool each from the 🎮 Game Dev Fund:
- xp_grind — most XP earned this week
- breeder — most breedings completed
- hatcher — most eggs hatched
⭐ Stud Reputation (Phase 19)
After a stud breeding, the breeder can rate the stud owner 1–5★ with an optional comment. Owners with ≥5 breedings AND ≥4.0★ average earn the ✓ Verified Breeder badge and rank first in the Stud Marketplace.

💰 Economy (Closed-Loop)
All quest, tournament, and bundle rewards come from the 🎮 Game Dev Fund treasury (wallet
00000000-0000-0000-0000-0000000de000), which is funded by egg sales, marketplace fees, and stud fees. There is no fresh LOVE minted — the system is fully closed-loop and self-balancing. Daily reward cap per user: $5 USDL from engagement XP.🔔 Notifications
You'll get push notifications for: egg ready to hatch, co-op breeding invites, marketplace sales, and a Monday weekly summary. Disable in your notification settings if not wanted.
🛡️ Fairness & Safety
- All RPCs use
SECURITY DEFINER+ race-safe insert-first reservations. - No admin can mint animals or LOVE for themselves.
- Genome is generated server-side and immutable after hatch.
- Marketplace transfers are atomic — animal and LOVE swap in the same transaction.
- Daily engagement reward is capped to prevent farming.
❓ FAQ
Q: Can I lose my animals?
No. Animals are permanent NFTs in your collection until you sell them.
Q: Are animals on-chain?
Currently they're stored in our database (Layer-2 style). On-chain Solana cNFT minting is on the roadmap.
Q: Can I withdraw my LOVE earnings?
Yes — earned LOVE goes straight to your wallet and follows standard withdrawal rules ($25 min, 9% exit fee).
Q: What if my egg never hatches?
Hatching is deterministic — once the timer ends, you can hatch anytime. If the AI image fails, it auto-retries with a fallback.
Q: Is there a mobile app?
LOVE Zoo runs in the LOVE PWA on any device. Add to home screen for an app-like experience.
